Both teams are automatically in the NAIA National Tournament. The 32-team NAIA National Tournament runs March 19-25 in Kansas City, Mo.
Regular Season Recaps:
Game One @ Trevecca - The Eagles defeated the Trojans 90-84 in January. Lambuth had five players score in double figures. Corey Webster led with 21 points. Rick James had a game high 22 points for Trevecca. Trevecca shot 57% from the field but had 24 fewer attempts from the floor than Lambuth. The Eagles made three more field goals. There were 57 combined fouls called and 70 combined free-throw attempts.
Game Two @ Lambuth - The February rematch saw Lambuth on top 81-74. Trey Pearson had 23 points for Lambuth while Josh Helton led Trevecca with 24 points. Pearson had nine rebounds, four assists and three steals in the game. Collins Onyando had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Trevecca. Lambuth had a season low six turnovers in the game while forcing the Trojans into 21 turnovers.
Path to Championship:
Lambuth defeated #9 Seed Mid-Continent in the Quarterfinals 93-86 and #4 Seed Cumberland University 88-65 in the Semifinals
Trevecca defeated #6 Seed Crichton 86-75 in the Quarterfinals and won at #2 Seed Martin Methodist 87-75 in Semifinals
