MEN’S BASKETBALL: LaVergne's Smigielski Transfers from High PointVisit www.tnutrojans.com for photos Smigielski, a 6'3", shooting guard from Smyrna, Tenn., joins the TNU program following a stellar prep career at LaVergne High School. He averaged 15.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game during his senior season (2006-2007) while also connecting on 47 percent of his three-point tries and shooting 84 percent from the free throw line. A two-time All-District and All-Region performer, Smigielski was named to the District All-Tournament team and District 9AAA MVP this year. He finished his prep career with 1,145 points and led LHS to a 102-23 record during his four-year varsity career. “Matt is a great fit for our system at Trevecca,” Harris said. “His toughness on the boards will fit into our style of play. He is a tremendous shooter we've seen a work ethic that is contagious. In addition to his solid playing skills, Matt is an outstanding student will represent us well in the classroom.
